This Franchise Used A Virtual Magic Show To Engage Their Franchisees Across The Globe

Ten years ago I looked at my keynote speaking client list and realized that a majority of my clients were franchises. That’s when I considered calling myself a “franchise magician.” I even bought the URL: thefranchisemagician.com.

In 2010 I used a franchise model to build my own business, See Magic Live, booking independent artists for corporate and social events around the country. That’s when I truly understood the power of a national brand to support local business owners.

One of my franchise clients that brought me in to speak to their franchisees was The Filta Group. Filta’s Environmental Kitchen Solutions help clients like restaurants, hotels, colleges and sports stadiums run a more efficient and profitable business while taking care of the environment.

In 2017 I spoke to the franchisees and presented my Personality Magic program. It was a big hit and I really enjoyed the focus and vision that the leadership team presented. We continued to stay in touch, their COO, Tom Dunn, became their CEO and when I started performing virtual magic shows for my clients, Tom was one of the vey first to attend a show.

The very next morning I got an e-mail from him asking to perform my virtual magic show for his franchisees. It was a perfect example of how much he cared about his teams. Knowing that everyone was stuck at home, he wanted to gift his people a positive experience.

Tom invited the franchise owners, employees and even their partner vendors. I filmed a teaser video to build excitement for the live virtual performance.

Because his team of 200 was spread out across the world, I presented four different virtual magic shows. This allowed me to engage groups in England separately from the groups in US and Canada. And it created more intimate and meaningful experiences for the attendees.

The goal of my performances was to bring some light and joy into people’s homes. At a very difficult time, when the COVID19 pandemic was just starting to shut down the world and people had been home for two to three weeks, Filta Group created a positive experience to share with their teams.

Below is a short highlight reel of my performances for their franchise group:

I loved using this online, remote platform to connect with families across the world.

If your business organization or franchise is looking for a way to engage your people, consider hosting a virtual magic show or a virtual keynote speaker for a unique and powerful experience.
