Why You Want To Watch The New Season of "Penn & Teller: Fool Us"

Are you at home? Of course. We’re all at home.
Do you like magic? What’s that, you LOVE magic?
Well then you already know all about “Penn & Teller: Fool Us.”
It’s the best magic show on TV.

“Fool Us” is now entering Season 7 and Penn Jillette tells TV Insider that it has the best magicians yet. “Magicians started to see they are being treated with respect and the show would be shot well. That they would have an opportunity to show off in beautiful ways.”

And it’s true! As a performer on season 2 and season 5 I was blown away by how gracious Penn & Teller were to the artists and how positive the show was for magic.

This morning I spoke to Wilson’s World at the WB in Charlotte. The host asked me “How was that experience for you on the show? How has it helped your career?” Here’s what I said in response and the full interview below:

“It made a huge impact. I am forever grateful to Penn & Teller. The show is an amazing showcase for magic you wouldn’t get to see anywhere else. And I think it’s one of the most popular shows on TV because the whole family can come together to watch the show. And it’s a showcase for magicians like myself who are local performers who would’ve stayed anonymous for 10, 15 or 20 years. But with this show, Penn & Teller gave me a chance to be on the national stage and that experience transformed my career.”

You can catch up on old episodes on the CW website or app. I prefer to watch a full episode because it’s the way the producers grouped the shows and artists to create maximum variety. But the producers are kind enough to let performers post their appearances on their YouTube channels with all advertising and copyright still held by the production company. So when you watch videos, be sure to go to the artist’s original channel.

Here are my two appearances and two of my favorite appearances from the funny Ben Seidman and the skillful Ryan Hayashi:

Penn and Teller are rockstars and I’m forever grateful to them!

I’ve watched the show with delight every year. I’ve cheered for my friends and colleagues and eagerly anticipated the final trick performed by Penn and Teller themselves. (If you’re obsessed with the show, check out the Wikipedia page for a break-down of all the seasons and foolers!)

While fooling them is in the title of the show, it’s really the least important part to them. It’s a gimmick they used to sell the concept of the show. But what the show is really about is being an amazing showcase for magic and magicians you never would have had a chance to see in your life!

Thanks to the show, just like people know there are different genres of music and different styles of comedians, now they know there are different genres and styles of magic.

And that’s why “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” is probably your favorite magic show on TV and why it’s my favorite TV show, period.

Watch “Penn & Teller: Fool Us on The CW every Monday night, 9pm EST, 8pm CST.
