2019: The Year of Magic Partnerships

I’m officially calling 2019: The Year of Magic Partnerships. I partnered with 97 organizations to produce, perform or provide entertainment for 647 events.

Of course the most important partnership was with my wife, Amy. Our first child was born this year and there is no greater partnership than the one we get to share together as a growing family.

So what’s especially amazing about this year is that while my business continued to expand and we had more business than ever, I performed the least amount of shows I’ve ever personally done. Which was exactly what I wanted to do, so I could be with my family!

As I reflected on that, I had a clear realization that there’s only one thing that’s responsible for helping me have such an amazing opportunity to watch my daughter grow. And that is the PARTNERSHIPS that my company developed this year with amazing brands and organizations.

We worked with extraordinary people at the best businesses. We partnered with them to create new product offerings for their clients, exciting new content for their fans or unique guest experiences for their venues. Since each client serves a different audience, each one required a unique approach and solution. To make this all happen, I got to work with an amazing group of artists from across the country. And, as I mentioned, I got to do it while mostly at home, learning to be a parent.

It’s been an amazing year of making cool things happen with awesome people. Business is all about partnerships. Working together. Building trust. Delivering on promises. Over-delivering in the execution.

After 23 years of running a solo-business, it is as clear as day to me that I would be nowhere if it wasn’t for all the amazing people, families, companies, businesses and organizations that I get to work with.

Together we multiply our powers.

Which tells me that this will be my goal for 2020: create the greatest impact on the people I get to connect with.

Thanks to the partnerships made over the last two decades and the ones still to come, I will get to make a greater difference in the world than ever before.

I am so grateful for everyone I get to work with. And excited to do more.

Here’s what I got to do in 2019 and what I get to do more of in 2020:

1. astonish more people with the amazing team of See Magic Live magicians

I’ll get to mark the 10th year of See Magic Live, working with an amazing group of artists. A group of great friends and nice people who happen to be some of the world’s best sleight-of-hand, close-up magicians and mentalists. Together, we’re going to astonish more people than we ever have before.

2. amaze more players and fans of the Orlando Magic

We’ve reached over 500K people on Facebook and now you can see our team of magicians on the jumbo-tron of the Orlando Magic games, showcasing the magic we created to announce their 2019-2020 season schedule.

Check out our team magicians, Josh Arroyo, Sebastian Midtvaage and Meraux Dantes performing original close-up magic for the NBA’s Orlando Magic.

3. impact thousands OF fun-seeking GROUPS at Boxi Park Lake Nona

6. create more incredible magic for "52!", premiering at the luxurious Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort

7. contribute to more non-profit events for local and national organizations

We get to work with a dozen charities and organizations that raise funds to make a daily difference for people in need or raise funds for research for medical treatments. We love all of our partners, one of which is Runway To Hope, which hosts many events for families throughout the year. Our team performs at their annual hallmark event, where we entertain both the attendees and the kids and families who get to walk the runway.

8. surprise more Disney Springs visitors 5 nights/week with the inimitable Meraux Dantes

In 2020, I’ll get to continue working with a wonderful person who is creating magical experiences nightly for thousands of Disney Springs visitors. Meraux Dantes continues to put audiences at ease. Together, they get to celebrate and enjoy a rare moment of wonder.

9. connect with more families as I ease their minds while they are being taken care of at Nemours Children's Hospital

And once a month, I’ll get to continue my monthly visits to Nemours Children’s Hospital, where I’ll bring joy and laughter to the patients and their families. For that time, nothing else matters but the connections and the people in each room.
